Healthy Relationships Today

About Us

Healthy Relationships Today (HRT) brings the nationally acclaimed Creating Positive Relationships curriculum to classrooms, equipping students with essential skills to build and maintain healthy relationships.

Real Conversations. Real Skills. Lifelong Impact.

Our engaging, interactive presentations focus on the benefits of delaying sexual activity, the components of healthy relationships, and strategies for long-term success. Every student can benefit from an HRT presentation, regardless of their relationship experience or interest.

HRT is part of Promise of Life Network, providing Sexual Risk Avoidance education that aligns with Pennsylvania Academic Standards. We currently serve over 1,200 students across 16 schools in Butler, Mercer, and Lawrence counties each year.

This free program offers flexible scheduling to meet classroom needs. While we use the nationally accredited Creating Positive Relationships curriculum as a foundation, each presentation is customized for the students we serve. Our sessions typically span three to four days but can be adjusted as needed. Every presentation includes group discussions and activities to keep students engaged.

HRT presents waiting as a realistic and beneficial choice for personal and public health. Students gain practical tools for setting boundaries, maintaining healthy relationships, and achieving their goals. The skills taught apply to all relationships—friendships, dating, marriage, and family.

No matter a student’s background, identity, or future relationship goals, HRT provides valuable insights and skills for life.

Lydia Heykamp

As a presenter with HRT, I have the privilege of speaking to students at all grade levels about healthy relationships and cultivating habits and practices that help protect their futures. During presentations, we dive into topics like recognizing red and green flags, setting boundaries, avoiding sexual risks, and setting goals for the future. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing students recognize and understand their self-worth—realizing they are deserving of healthy, respectful relationships. Today’s students are desperate for information on these topics, and I’m proud to provide a space where they can learn, grow, and feel empowered to make choices that will help them thrive in all areas of their lives.
